Shantae is an action-adventure platform game developed by WayForward Technologies and released for the Game Boy Color in 2002. In the game, players take on the role of Shantae, a half-genie who sets out to thwart the nefarious pirate Risky Boots and save Sequin Land. The game combines platforming, exploration, and RPG elements. Shantae uses her hair to whip enemies and her belly dancing abilities to transform into various creatures, each with unique abilities that allow her to access new areas and uncover secrets.
