Mad Dog McCree is an on-rails FMV-based action video game originally released for arcade systems and later ported to home platforms, including the Sega CD in 1993. Set in the American Old West, the player takes on the role of a nameless protagonist enlisted by the local sheriff to rescue the Mayor and his daughter, who have been kidnapped by the notorious outlaw Mad Dog McCree and his gang. Players use a light gun (or a controller, depending on the system) to shoot enemies and interact with the environment. The Sega CD version was noted for integrating full-motion video and its attempt at providing an authentic western experience.
