Gumshoe is a side-scrolling adventure game developed and released by Nintendo for the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) in 1986. The unique element of this game is the control scheme, which uses the NES Zapper light gun. The protagonist, Mr. Stevenson, is controlled indirectly. Players shoot him with the Zapper to make him jump or to fire at obstacles and enemies. The main objective is to keep Mr. Stevenson walking forward and to collect five Black Panther Diamonds throughout each stage. The game has an interesting character design and requires good hand-eye coordination to advance through five stages. This makes it an engaging puzzle-platformer for the NES.
