The Golden Compass for the Sony PlayStation 3 is a fantasy action-adventure game based on the first novel of Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy and the accompanying 2007 feature film. Players embark on a quest as young Lyra Belacqua and her shape-shifting daemon Pan, navigating through a parallel universe filled with magic, mystery, and danger. The game combines puzzle-solving with platforming and combat elements, as players use Lyra's special abilities, including reading an alethiometer (a truth-telling device), to unravel a dark conspiracy and find her kidnapped friend.
