Defender II is an action-shooter game for Nintendo NES, released in 1988. Set in a frantic, horizontally-scrolling alien world, this game requires players to control a small spaceship tasked with destroying waves of marauding invaders while defending and rescuing humans. The game's interface takes advantage of split-screen technology, dividing the lower half into a radar view showing enemy/spacemen locations and ship status, and the upper half into the main action. This sequel incorporates new elements, like the introduction of planetary landscapes, hyperspace, and invisible aliens, which ramps up the intensity and challenge for the players.
