Decathlon, released for the Colecovision console, is a sports-themed video game that simulates the ten different events of the athletic contest known as a decathlon. This game challenges players to test their skill in events such as sprinting, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400-meter race, hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw, and the 1500-meter race. It was released during the early 1980s, and its gameplay requires players to use quick, rhythmic movements of the controller to simulate the athletes’ actions, which was unique for the games of its time. Decathlon offers both single-player and multiplayer modes, allowing for competitive play among friends.
