Samurai Shodown, also known as Samurai Spirits in Japan, is a fighting video game series developed and published by SNK Corporation. The latest installment for the PlayStation 4, often referred to as Samurai Shodown (2019), was released in June 2019. It reboots the classic 2D fighting series with 3D graphics, retaining the traditional weapon-based combat and adding new mechanics and characters. The game is set in late 18th century Japan and features a roster of fighters from previous entries alongside new faces.
