Beamrider - Atari 2600

Beamrider is a classic fixed shooter video game released for the Atari 2600 in 1983. Developed by Chopper Command's creator David Rolfe and published by Activision, the game presents a 3D-like playing field set in space. Players control a ship at the bottom of the screen and must blast through beams of light and a variety of enemies to reach the Sector Sentinel. With its innovative use of pseudo-3D graphics and engaging gameplay, Beamrider has garnered a cult following and is remembered as a pioneering title of the early 80s arcade style.
