Astroblast, also known as Astrosmash in some versions, is a fixed shooter video game for the Atari 2600 developed by M Network, a console games division of Mattel Electronics. Released in 1981, players control a laser canon, moving it horizontally at the bottom of the screen and shooting at asteroids and enemy spacecraft descending from the top. Its addictive gameplay and simple mechanics gained it considerable popularity during the golden age of arcade games. The game's genre can be classified as a shoot 'em up.
